Maintenance Electrician



1st Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm (Mon-Fri, weekend work and overtime as required)
3rd Shift: 10:00pm – 6:30am (Mon-Fri, OT as required)
4th Shift: 6:00 am – 6:30pm (Fri/Sat/Sun, overtime as required)



The electrician is in charge of the design, testing, implementation, and controls of all new and existing electrical systems in the plant, water treatment area, and all external buildings; overseeing all electrical changes that take place on site and direct the maintenance associates involved.

Duties and Responsibilities

· Design and implement all electrical systems for new installations
· Maintain all motor control centers ensuring that they are up to code in all areas
· Maintain camera system
· Design, implement, maintain, and upgrade all PLC systems and develop automation plan
· Install conduit and run wire for all new and old work in accordance with NEC
· Plan all lighting changes and follow through to completion
· Ensure that all external electrical lighting and outlets are operational
· Inspect grounding system for the plant on an annual basis
· Work within safety guidelines at all times



· Licensed Journeyman Electrician preferred
· Excellent attention to detail
· Willing to work overtime as required
· Excellent time management skills
· Self-starter with innovative ideas and excellent follow through
· Proven leadership ability
· Able to learn new processes with minimal supervision
· Ability to use hand tools and trades type tools
· Strong mechanical background required


Education and/or Experience

· Licensed Journeyman electrician with 3 years industrial experience
· Electrical Engineering degree can be used in place of experience requirement
· Trained in programming and troubleshooting PLCs
· Trained in Maintenance CMMS and AutoCAD
· Competent computer skills with working knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point and Projects


Communication Skills

· Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to communicate well


Physical Requirements / Environment

· Stand/Walk: Continuously throughout shift
· Lift/Carry: Frequently (1-10 lbs), Occasionally as required with assistance (up to 35-50 lbs.)
· Frequently; bend/stoop, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder (2-3 ft.), crouch, kneel, push/pull, grasp
· Physical Environment: Continuously: Working around moving machinery, working in a damp, slippery and cold environment (Below 40° F)
· Working around moving machinery, in areas with marked changes in temperature and humidity, exposure to dust and fumes, occasionally working at unprotected heights, around and amongst dead birds and a strong chicken odor, some tight or confined space areas
